However, I recall a bunch of people telling me that they HATED Dawn of the New World. My only gripe is that it was pretty short, only about 28 1/2 hours or so after beating the final boss with the perfect ending, not being aware there were other endings until after I had already beat the game. Anyway, I managed to beat the game in about 4 or 5 days. Plus Zelos's voice was quite good this time around as well. Plus, I ended up liking Lloyd's voice in this game a lot more (No offense to Scott Menville, he's a great voice actor, I guess I just couldn't take Lloyd seriously by association) and loved the addition of Laura Bailey for Marta (I'm a bit of a Laura Bailey fanboy, and seeing as much as I liked Rise in Persona 4, it's only natural that I like her I guess). I loved the character development behind Emil, I was geniunely interested in the story aspects (why is Lloyd killing all of these people? Why has everything gone to shit since the last game, etc.), and I was enjoying myself. Everything that seemed wrong with Symphonia seemed to be fixed with Dawn of the New World. So, I figured "hey, why the hell not? I don't have anything to play right now." I did the same thing in Persona 4, and managed to do it here as well. I always manage to look up characters that interest me to find more background information on them, development information and stuff like that, only to end up spoiling shit for myself. However, I did remember about a week ago that there was the second game on there as well, the sequel "Dawn of the New World." Now, normally I wouldn't ever jump into a sequel without playing the game before hand, but I had a basic idea of what was happening and how the game probably ended. So I eventually dropped it and didn't look back. ![]() Plus, Lloyd's voice bothered the hell out of me I couldn't get the idea of Lloyd saying "Titans, Go!" out of my head. I wasn't too invested in any of the characters, the only two I ended up liking a lot were Zelos and Kratos. Battling felt like a chore, I didn't feel the need to progress in the story long story short, I just got bored with it. And eventually, I was having a decent time with it, I was moderately invested in the story, until I hit around the 20 hour mark or so, when I just lost interest entirely. I figured the beginning would start slow, so I gave it some time to adjust and try to have some fun in the game. However, what followed was a little disappointing. So, I went into it being hyped, which was totally a good thing! Anytime I would ever bring up a Tales game (at this point, I've already played through Vesperia, Abyss, Graces f, and Xillia, in that order), people would go on and on about how great Symphonia was. I've heard incredible things about it, and figured it was definitely gonna be worth the buy. I picked up Tales of Symphonia Chronicles a few days after it came out. So now that that's out of the way, lemme get started. ![]() I never played a Tales Game until about March 2013, which my start was Vesperia. Okay, let me get this out there right away and say that I didn't play Symphonia as a kid.
